What I learned about Blondie Comics over the summer

I read the Blondie comic for years. It was never laugh out loud funny, but it was there. Another local newspaper is getting rid of their print run and going all digital. What happens to Blondie?

I thought they need to make the Blondie comic more relevant and make readers want to find it.

No one is going out of their way to see that Dagwood is a glutton. Blondie shops. The comic writers could take Blondie into those book collections or calendars. No one is getting a calendar of Dagwood being a glutton.

I know comic strip writing isn’t easy. It says something that Blondie is syndicated to as many papers as it is. It is amazing that they lasted so long. I could say it’s more on my impressions that Blondie is bland but there. Blondie has so much success that readers clearly love it. Gluttony and all.

I thought about doing a Blondie fan fiction story. Dagwood is getting food poisoning. Maybe incorporate those old stories from the comic days. Blondie underwent a lot of physical looks so there may be a public domain version in a few years.

Dagwood kills the post man when he runs into him. Blondie erotica. Who knows.
