Maybe a new Voice in Comics is needed

I often wondered why daily comic writers don’t hire professional comedians to write some storylines. Marvel hired Makenzie Lee to write books about Glamora and Nebula, Loki and Winter Soldier. Barry Lyga wrote a really good book about Thanos. Why can’t Blondie hire someone like Iliza Shlesinger to write about a woman in the business world?

Look at all the storylines they leave out, the catered parties, a woman with a business, finances in a business, teenagers ( and not they use cell phones- we get it).

Dagwood is a glutton, we get it and it’s not funny. Dagwood sleeps at work and it’s not funny. John Mulaney or  Nate Bargatze could add some jokes about working or married life.

It’s been decades since we’ve heard of Dagwood’s parents. Did they ever think of a storyline like that?

Blondie is circulated around the world. It continues to entertain so maybe they know what they are doing. They have a formula and it works even if Dagwood is a glutton and it’s not funny.
