5 New Things about the Book Festival at Ocean City NJ
Libraries are not stale places with musty old books. This library was in a complex with a food place, swim club site and museum. The hallways were bright and roomy. The librarians were super friendly and helpful.
Ever go to a bookstore or book fair and see the book already wrapped. They call it “blind date with a book.” The blind date with a book concept is a popular thing. This is the second event I did where an author wrapped her books in brown paper and gave the topics that the book was about. Readers are captivated by the mystery of what the book could be. So much for judging a book by the cover!
Muses don’t leave forever. Several authors re-covered their older titles and are selling them. Authors came back after CoVID with new books.
You will meet all different genres and authors. I had a table next to a nonfiction author Frank Morgan who wrote several books on calculus and other math studies. It probably wouldn’t garner much attention but he brought bubbles to explain surface tension and circumference. People stayed to watch and buy math books.
Another event where I spent more money than I made. The event had authors Neil McNeill, M Flagg, Maria K Alexander, Jennifer Shirk, KT Roberts , Toni DePalma. Of course I spent more than I made.
